A letter from the founder

Curiosity is a great propellant for personal growth. My passion for healthy living and sustainability accelerated when I started to scrutinize what I was feeding my parrot and then what I was putting in and on my body. Becoming inquisitive about ingredients led me to look into the processes behind how things are made and how they have changed over the decades. Thoughts of my grandmother gardening and making things from scratch came to mind flavored with memories of homemade sauerkraut, canned tomatoes and jars of preserved apples, peaches and pears. In the midst of life’s complexities, I enjoy going back to basics–practicing and sharing traditional techniques updated for modern living while consciously integrating with our environment. It’s part homage to those who came before us, part reverence for how amazing our bodies are, and part reconnection to the natural world.

Cheers,
Jamie
